Torvonyah Heggie was on fire: she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of West Craven's points. Shalawn Yates was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for West Craven and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for New Bern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
West Craven will head out on the road to face off against Havelock at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Bern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Carteret at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. West Carteret will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
