Valor Christian is 4-0 against Rangeview since March of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Valor Christian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Rangeview Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Valor Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Rangeview likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Valor Christian faced Pine Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Valor Christian secured a 77-73 W over Pine Creek. Valor Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Valor Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Lytle out in front who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Fuessel, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Rangeview's 16-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Broomfield on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Rangeview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Broomfield is ranked seventh).
Valor Christian's victory was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Rangeview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Valor Christian took their win against Rangeview in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 71-47. With Valor Christian ahead 65-24 at the half, the match was all but over already.
