Springfield hasn't had much luck against Eads recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Longhorns will welcome the Eagles at 3:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Springfield will bounce into Friday's game after beating McClave, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Longhorns walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Cardinals on Monday.
Hudson Gourley was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Gourley was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Springfield let Carter Barnes and Grady Mundell run wild. Barnes scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Mundell scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Barnes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Rosengrants, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Springfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McClave only posted a batting average of .263.
Meanwhile, Eads strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Cheyenne Wells 19-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Adyn Hough made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Case Nelson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Stockton Mitchek, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Eads' win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Springfield, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Springfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. However, it's not like Eads struggles in that department as they've averaged .400. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
