Crescent Valley is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Silverton, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Meanwhile, Dallas won against Corvallis on Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Everything went the Dragons' way against West Albany as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.
Madi Ruman made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, Dallas let Grace Walls and Maddi Jones run wild. Walls went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Jones went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three runs gave Walls a new career-high. Savannah George also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Crescent Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Dallas, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Crescent Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Dallas struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Crescent Valley suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Dallas when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
