Basketball Recap: Pretty Prairie Drops Season-High Score on Stafford

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Otis-Bison, Pretty Prairie was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 66-60 W over the Stafford Trojans. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Pretty Prairie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evan W Young, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance also gave W Young a new career-high in blocks (eight). Another player making a difference was Eli Young, who went 7 of 10 en route to 19 points.

Pretty Prairie was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stafford only racked up 12 assists.

Despite the loss, Stafford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Pablo Diaz went 9 of 20 on his way to 19 points along with eight steals and five assists. Diaz's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Lowther, who posted 20 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Pretty Prairie's record is now 3-1. As for Stafford, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pretty Prairie will venture away from home to challenge Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pretty Prairie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season. As for Stafford, they will head out to face off against Centre at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
