A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions duke it out with the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (King's Academy has four straight wins, Clewiston has 19 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, King's Academy got the win against Dr. Joaquin Garcia by a conclusive 15-6. Fans of the Lions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Caroline Duncan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.
In other batting news, Gracyn Needle was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. Abigail Daniel was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
King's Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Clewiston lost 20-1 to Avon Park on Friday.
Clewiston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyra Fields, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
King's Academy pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13 runs. As for Clewiston, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Clewiston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: King's Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .476. It's a different story for Clewiston, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain King's Academy's hitters?
Everything went King's Academy's way against Clewiston in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as King's Academy made off with a 24-13 win. Does King's Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clewiston turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
