Ely/Krekelberg HomeSchool's's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cook County Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on December 19th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Ely/Krekelberg HomeSchool came up short against Mesabi East and fell 63-54. The loss was Ely/Krekelberg HomeSchool's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Cook County pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Cromwell by a score of 66-63. While losing is never fun, Cook County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Cromwell is ranked 68th).
Despite the loss, Cook County got a solid performance out of Denali Blackwell, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Recko Helmerson- Skildum, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Ely/Krekelberg HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Cook County, they bumped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
