The Branford Buccaneers have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell just short of Trenton by a score of 57-54. Branford lost against Trenton in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 46-42 score last time.
Trenton found their leader in underclassman Nathan Ridgell, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kendal Henry, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds.
Branford's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Trenton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Branford is on the road again on Thursday and play against Cedar Key at 6:30 p.m. on December 21st. Cedar Key comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Trenton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Newberry at 8:00 p.m. on December 19th. Newberry presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trenton in Florida (Newberry is ranked 67th, while Trenton is ranked 400th).
