On Monday, the Eden Prairie Eagles faced the St. Michael-Albertville Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eden Prairie fell 71-63 to St. Michael-Albertville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), Eden Prairie still had to take the loss.
Eden Prairie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rae Ehrman, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Tori Schlagel was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Eden Prairie's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-7. As for St. Michael-Albertville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eden Prairie will challenge Minnetonka at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Michael-Albertville, they will head out on the road to take on Edina at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edina will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 138th, while St. Michael-Albertville is ranked eighth).
