The Troy Trojans suffered their biggest loss since December 30, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the victim of a rough 43-22 loss at the hands of Butler. Troy has struggled against Butler recently, as their match on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Simone Adekoya, who scored six points along with two steals.
Troy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for Butler, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Troy will be playing at home against Xenia at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Butler, they will head out on the road to square off against Piqua at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Piqua will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 669th, while Butler is ranked 240th).
