The Skyline Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 66-59 to Mansfield Legacy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Skyline came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Mansfield Legacy is ranked 262nd).
Despite the loss, Skyline still got an impressive performance from Naiya Carney, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Tamya Whitemon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Skyline has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-17 record this season. As for Mansfield Legacy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-19.
Skyline will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Ridge is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Mansfield Legacy, they will head out on the road to take on DeSoto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DeSoto will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
