Sherman has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Panama Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sherman and the Panthers are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
Last Tuesday, Sherman came up short against the Pirates and fell 35-24. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sherman in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Panama can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. They blew past Brocton 77-32 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Panama as they're now sitting on four straight.
Bryce Hinsdale and Carter Brink were among the main playmakers for Panama as the former scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds and the latter scored 20 points. Brink has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last three times he's played. Brandon Keefe was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Sherman dropped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Panama, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
Sherman suffered a grim 65-40 defeat to the Panthers in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brink, who scored 35 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Now that Sherman knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
