The Burlingame Panthers won the last time they faced the El Camino Colts, and things went their way on Thursday too. Burlingame escaped with a win against El Camino by the margin of a single free throw, 42-41. Given Burlingame's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while El Camino is ranked 846th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Burlingame was led to victory by Ryan Dougherty and Alain Kazarian. Dougherty scored ten points, while Kazarian scored 11 points along with five assists. Kazarian also grabbed two steals for the first time this season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Burlingame and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for El Camino, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burlingame will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Leigh at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Leigh has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for El Camino, they will head out on the road to face off against Miramonte at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Miramonte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
