Michael Anthony's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cortez over Camp Verde
Starting off the list is Cortez's Michael Anthony, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Anthony rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.
Unfortunately for Camp Verde, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Anthony. When Anthony last faced the Cowboys back in October of 2023, he rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.

Glendale Prep Academy Gets a Boost from Mchale in 51-14 Victory
Joshua Mchale was instrumental in extending Glendale Prep Academy's winning streak to three on Friday. Highland Prep had no answer to Mchale as he threw for 260 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown. Mchale is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
Unfortunately for Highland Prep, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Mchale. Mchale threw for 116 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Honey Badgers duked it out back in October of 2023.

Jamerrius Anthony Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Cortez had to settle for second even though Jamerrius Anthony put up the best numbers he has all season. Anthony rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 99 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Cortez's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

Dylan Lincoln Turns in Another Game with at Least 115 Receiving Yards
On Friday, Glendale Prep Academy got the W thanks in part to Dylan Lincoln playing the best football he has all season. Lincoln's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 115 receiving yards dating back to last season.
Lincoln must have Highland Prep's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Lincoln last faced the Honey Badgers back in October of 2023, he picked up 53 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
