Eagle Rock has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Franklin Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Eagle Rock's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matches.
Eagle Rock pushed their score all the way to 47 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Lincoln by a score of 49-47. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (46), Eagle Rock still had to take the loss.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Reilly Brousseau, who threw for 456 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Brousseau is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. Adriel Huezo-alger also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Franklin can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Marshall 42-6 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Eduardo Cuevas looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 283 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Steele, who picked up 148 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Lincoln's win bumped their season record to 6-3 while Eagle Rock's loss dropped theirs to 5-4.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Eagle Rock and Franklin haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Eagle Rock commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.7 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Franklin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Eagle Rock ended up a good deal behind Franklin in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, losing 30-13. Can Eagle Rock avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
