The Nottoway Cougars suffered their closest loss yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Randolph-Henry by a score of 62-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (55), Nottoway still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Nottoway lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kendreyeus Johnson. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of D'aunte Watson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Nottoway has fallen quite a ways from their 16-5 record last season and are now at 3-8. As for Randolph-Henry, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.
