Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Goldwater

Goldwater won the last time they faced Greenway and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Demons. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Goldwater had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 17-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-13.

Joseph Sotelo Valdez paced Goldwater's offense, picking up 26 kills. Sotelo Valdez got some help from Brandan Tran and his 50 assists. Tran was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Daniel Hoang and Bryce Uyesato certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hoang had seven digs and two aces, while Uyesato had 17 digs. Hoang is also crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 24 every time he's taken the court this season.

Goldwater's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. As for Greenway, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

Goldwater has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Cactus Shadows on the 3rd. As for Greenway, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Thunderbird on the 3rd.
