Camas is 2-8 against Prairie since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Papermakers are taking a road trip to face off against the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. Camas will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Camas came out on top against Kelso on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Papermakers took their contest against the Hilanders 9-5. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Allyson Montler was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Montler was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Beth Conger was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie Wittler, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles.
Camas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Prairie came out on top against Battle Ground on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Falcons had just enough and edged out the Tigers 7-6. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Like Camas, Prairie also got a great game from a two-way player: Mackenzie Moore. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Moore was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Alyssa Plew and Kellie Cady did most of the damage at the plate: Plew went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Cady went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That RBI marked the first that Plew has brought in this season.
Camas' record now sits at 5-2. As for Prairie, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Prairie's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Camas has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Prairie, though, as they've been averaging 9.1 hits. Given Camas' sizable advantage in that area, the Falcons will need to find a way to close that gap.
Camas came out on top in a nail-biter against Prairie in their previous matchup on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Papermakers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
