Baseball Recap: Prairie's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Prairie dropped their record down to 9-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Clearwater Valley Rams, falling 21-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pirates have suffered since April 4th.

Carter Shears made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Prairie is 6-1 when Shears posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Chris Schumacher was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Clearwater Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games.

On Clearwater Valley's side, Barak Meyer was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Cameron Whitcomb also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
