Given Boulder City's advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Virgin Valley is ranked 35th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Boulder City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roman Rose, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The contest was Rose's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Wright, who scored 21 points.
Meanwhile, Fernley blew past North Valleys, posting a 62-24 victory on the road.

Boulder City didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Fernley when the teams last played back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 53-49 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Fernley's Jett Caudle, who scored 22 points along with five assists and three steals. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Boulder City to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
