There's no place like home for the O'Connor Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Holmes by a score of 56-46 on Friday. Given O'Connor's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Holmes is ranked 494th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Julian Barron, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Schulze, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
O'Connor's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 16-10. As for Holmes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
O'Connor will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Jay at 6:00 p.m. Jay has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,020 points over their last 14 contests. As for Holmes, they will head out on the road to square off against Warren at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
