Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, a fact the Hershey Panthers proved on Friday. They blew past Maxwell 64-36 at home. With that win, Hershey brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.
Hershey got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ali Vaughn out in front who scored 14 points along with five steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenna Bringewatt, who scored 13 points.
Maxwell's loss came despite strong showings from Kristyn Cheek and Jocelyn Cheek. Cheek scored seven points along with six rebounds, while Cheek scored five points along with four blocks.
Hershey has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Maxwell, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.
