B District 2 (8 Man) recap November 13, 2013
Alex added to the longest winning streak in B District 2 (8 Man) this week by beating Macomb, 35-14. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Longhorns.
Waurika lost to Oklahoma Christian Academy 54-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Taylor Townsend threw for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Caleb Powell provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Eagles defeated the Eagles. He completed 6 passes for 154 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 260 yards. Powell's key target this week was Nathaniel Garner, who caught 5 passes for 108 yards.
Powell was a force in the backfield as Oklahoma Christian Academy topped Waurika.
Townsend put up the best numbers in passing as Fox beat Allen. Townsend's favorite target this week was Seth Argo, who caught 4 passes for 73 yards.
Grey Powell's team's Powell and Garner have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Powell has thrown for 1,267 yards this season, while Garner has 49 catches for 1,169 yards. Cody Lewis from Geary leads the league in rushing with 1,823 yards.
Kyler Thornburg of the Alex is only 69 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Thornburg has rushed for 931 yards on 80 carries so far this year.
The Eagles led the league in scoring this week by notching 54 points on GlennHoward's team. Powell ran for 260 yards during the win.
