The Saxony Lutheran Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 30 points or more this season. They breezed by St. Paul Lutheran at home to the tune of 66-23. The victory was just what Saxony Lutheran needed coming off of a 72-51 loss in their prior game.
Saxony Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rebecca Johnson led the charge by scoring 22 points along with four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least 25% of Saxony Lutheran's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evie Caruso, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Saxony Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for St. Paul Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
Saxony Lutheran will face off against Neelyville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
