It was a good run, but the Goshen Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 72-64 to Northwest. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Goshen came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Northwest is ranked 302nd).
Goshen's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Zeinner, who scored 21 points along with four steals. Zeinner is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Haley, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Goshen's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2. As for Northwest, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Goshen will be playing in front of their home fans against Western Brown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Western Brown is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Northwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Talawanda at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Talawanda is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
