The Furr Brahmans and the Iowa Colony Pioneers squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Furr Brahmans had to settle for second. Furr was dealt a 37-0 defeat at the hands of Iowa Colony. While losing is never fun, Furr can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 842nd, while Iowa Colony is ranked 123rd).
Iowa Colony found their leader in underclassman Aaron Tenner, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Haydon Caston got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Furr's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Iowa Colony, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Furr does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Iowa Colony will be playing in front of their home fans against Lindale at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Lindale is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
