The LEAD Academy Panthers posted their biggest win since November 22, 2023 on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Stem Preparatory Academy 71-44 at home. Given LEAD Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Stem Preparatory Academy is ranked 371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
LEAD Academy was led to victory by Anthony Petway and Brandon Fields. Petway scored eight points along with 14 assists and five steals, while Fields scored 19 points along with two steals. Petway has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dreshawn Harvell, who scored eight points.
The win makes it two in a row for LEAD Academy and bumps their season record up to 13-9. As for Stem Preparatory Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Pearl-Cohn the next time they take the court. Stem Preparatory Academy will host Pearl-Cohn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while LEAD Academy will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
