Jace Brown and Wanya Wright provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Stratford. The longest such play in A District 5 this season, the connection resulted in 84 yards.
Wayne extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Wewoka, 59-18. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Wynnewood's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brown threw for 163 and two touchdowns and Wright had 111 yards receiving. On the ground Trey Knowles chipped in 129 yards. Gus Reinert helped Wynnewood's passing attack out by catching three balls for 46 yards.
Wynnewood's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Savages feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brown has thrown for 1036 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Pete Carter has 12 catches for 368 yards. Knowles leads the league in rushing with 914 yards.
Knowles of the the Savages is only 86 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Wynnewood takes on Brandon Sharp's team. Brad O'Steen's team has allowed 49 points this season, while the Bulldogs have given up 88. The Savages allowed 7 points last week as they beat the Bulldogs.
Wynnewood took down Stratford 59-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brown ran for seven yards in the win.
