Gaither has been on the road for five straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Middleton Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Gaither has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 310 points over their last five games.
On Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Gaither beat Spoto 58-53.
Jayce Humphries was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points. Marc Fransberg was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Middleton suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 71-24 defeat at the hands of Jesuit. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Middleton has scored all season.
Gaither's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Middleton, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.
Gaither skirted past Middleton 69-66 in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Middleton's Xavier Taylor, who scored 25 points. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Gaither to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
