The Plantation Colonels pushed their score all the way to 63 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Central 67-63.
Several Colonels players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jabari Washington, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Washington hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Daterrius Heller was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Dwight Carter was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds for Central. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Suarez, who scored 11 points.
Plantation has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Plantation will be playing in front of their home fans against Hallandale at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hallandale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 301st, while Plantation is ranked 137th). Central on the road again on Friday and play against Dade Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
