Springfield has gone a perfect 10-0 against Ravenna recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Spartans will face off against the Ravens at 5:30 p.m. Springfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Springfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over Rittman on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Spartans with their most commanding win of the season.
Aaliyah Boswell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Boswell was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alexis Altizer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Emily Crytzer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Springfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rittman only posted an OBP of .280.
Meanwhile, Ravenna lost 11-3 to Mogadore on Friday. The Ravens have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Alivia Dailey made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Ravenna's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Springfield, their record is now 4-8.
Ravenna's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Springfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. It's a different story for Ravenna, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Springfield's hitters?
Springfield skirted past Ravenna 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
