The Oceanside Mariners put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Medomak Valley by a score of 49-40. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Oceanside has scored all year.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oceanside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bailey Breen, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Sophie Daggett, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds.
Oceanside pushed their record up to 14-0 with that victory, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Medomak Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oceanside will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Belfast at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Belfast will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Oceanside is ranked second). As for Medomak Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Lincoln Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
