Buckhannon-Upshur is 8-2 against Fairmont Senior since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Buccaneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Polar Bears at 6:00 p.m. Buckhannon-Upshur is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Buckhannon-Upshur came out on top against Grafton on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Buccaneers walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Bearcats. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Kynnedy Marple made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Marple was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madi Knabenshue, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Avery Hamer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Fairmont Senior had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Bees as they made off with an 11-2 victory.
Like Buckhannon-Upshur, Fairmont Senior also got a great game from a two-way player: Michaela Egidi. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Egidi was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Talia Olivito and Kylo Dodd did most of the damage at the plate: Olivito went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run, while Dodd went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Dodd a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lolita Wright, who earned three runs and two stolen bases.
Fairmont Senior always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Fairmont only posted an OBP of .318.
Buckhannon-Upshur's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Fairmont Senior, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.
Buckhannon-Upshur beat Fairmont Senior 7-3 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Buccaneers repeat their success, or do the Polar Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
