Softball Recap: Ewing Wins Going Away Against Hopewell Valley Central

Ewing got themselves on the board against Hopewell Valley Central on Tuesday, but Hopewell Valley Central never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Ewing got a great performance from Abbie Mahan as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Abby Singer, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emily Gamboa Ordini, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Ewing's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hopewell Valley Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Ewing will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Allentown at 4:00 p.m. As for Hopewell Valley Central, they will head out to challenge Somerville at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
