The Freeport Red Devils just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Plainedge Red Devils at 12:45 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Freeport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Thursday.
Freeport can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Oyster Bay 45-42. The victory was just what Freeport needed coming off of a 52-30 defeat in their prior game.
Freeport's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Gordon, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jaylen Jean-Louis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, even though Floral Park Memorial scored an imposing 60 points last Tuesday, Plainedge still came out on top. Plainedge walked away with a 67-60 win over Floral Park Memorial. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Plainedge.
Freeport's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. Plainedge's record is now 2-0.
