The Mountain View Mavericks will face off against the Boise Brave at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Mountain View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Owyhee, who was ranked first at the time (Mountain View was ranked sixth). The Mavericks fell just short of the Storm by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The Mavericks haven't had much luck with the Storm recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Katy Jackson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
Meanwhile, Boise entered their tilt with Capital on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 11-8.
Kamryn Newbery was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Lily Binford was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Boise hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 7-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Boise's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Boise's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Mountain View has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Boise, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will Mountain View keep running through batters, or will the Brave buck the trend?
