Even though the Lake Worth Christian Defenders scored an imposing 70 points on Friday, the Foundation Academy Lions still came out on top. Foundation Academy walked away with a 79-70 win over Lake Worth Christian. The score was all tied up 36-36 at the break, but Foundation Academy was the better team in the second half.
Foundation Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Osborne led the charge by scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Cameron Basden, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Foundation Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Lake Worth Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foundation Academy will take on Poinciana at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Worth Christian and Benjamin will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Benjamin is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
