The Decatur Red Raiders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Scottsboro on the road by a decisive 35-20 margin. Decatur was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Scottsboro apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Decatur lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bradin Dupper. Despite the final result, he rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
Decatur's defeat was their third straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.7 points per game. As for Scottsboro, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Decatur does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Scottsboro will be playing at home against Moody at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Moody is ranked 75th, while Scottsboro is ranked 59th).
