The Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets won the last time they faced the Bainbridge Bearcats, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Thomas County Central took down Bainbridge 47-28. Given Thomas County Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Bainbridge is ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tia Floyd, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Travesha Giddens, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Bainbridge still got an impressive performance from Taliyah Ausgood, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of DaNydia Campbell, who scored five points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Thomas County Central and bumps their season record up to 15-3. As for Bainbridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Thomas County Central on the road again on Friday and play against Tift County at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Tift County will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Bainbridge will take on Westover at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Westover focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
