The Lincoln Trojans waltzed into their matchup Thursday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 53-44 win over Maclay. Given Lincoln's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Maclay is ranked 475th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lincoln got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kingsley Mutanga out in front who scored 13 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Walker, who scored 11 points along with three blocks.
Lincoln pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Maclay, they have fallen quite a ways from their 24-4 record last season and are now at 4-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will take on Wakulla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maclay, they will look to defend their home court on January 12th against North Florida Christian at 7:30 p.m.
