The Harvey Red Raiders suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. Their rough 77-51 defeat to Madison might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Harvey can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while Madison is ranked 204th).
Harvey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Deontae Ware, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Johnson, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Harvey has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Madison, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
Harvey on the road again on Friday and play against Edgewood at 6:45 p.m. on January 19th. Edgewood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Harvey likes a good challenge. As for Madison, they will be playing at home against Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Geneva is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
