The Aquinas Knights struggled with threes on Wednesday (the John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Aquinas fell 56-46 to John F. Kennedy Catholic. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Aquinas in their matchups with John F. Kennedy Catholic: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Aquinas still got an impressive performance from K'Lynn Carter, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 50% of Aquinas' points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Everett, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Didi Ryan was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 steals for John F. Kennedy Catholic. Ryan is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Darney, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aquinas will take on Chaney at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Bristol at 5:30 p.m.
