Two dominant signal callers in Garrett Burrough and Brandon Musch are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Brooks Lions are on the road again on Friday and play against the Westminster Christian Acadmey Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
With a playoff game on the line, Brooks rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Bulldogs 70-42 on the road. Considering Brooks has won four contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooks got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Omar Joyner out in front who rushed for 320 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 16.8 yards per carry. Joyner's longest rush was for an incredible 91 yards. Another player making a difference was Burrough, who rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Westminster Christian Acadmey beat Deshler 39-35 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Westminster Christian Acadmey.
Musch was his usual excellent self, rushing for 189 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
Brooks has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Westminster Christian Acadmey, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Brooks has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 273.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Westminster Christian Acadmey struggles in that department as they've been averaging 163.1 per game.
