The Warren County Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kettle Run. Warren County has not had much luck with Kettle Run recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Warren County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marshall Barton. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with three steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Bare, who scored six points along with three steals.
Warren County bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kettle Run, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Brentsville District at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for Kettle Run, they will challenge Skyline at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Skyline presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kettle Run in Virginia (Skyline is ranked 121st, while Kettle Run is ranked 262nd).
