Prospect Hill Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk at 4:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard on Monday.
Last Friday, Prospect Hill Academy came up short against Neighborhood House Charter and fell 75-64.
Meanwhile, Innovation Academy came tearing into Friday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Minuteman Regional with points to spare, taking the game 76-59.
Innovation Academy can attribute much of their success to Bryce Kankam, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Derrick Twum, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 2 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Twum has scored at least a third of Innovation Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Horace, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Prospect Hill Academy bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Innovation Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Things could have been worse for Prospect Hill Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-55 loss to Innovation Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Prospect Hill Academy, Jaydis Gonzalez (who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 0 assists) won't be suiting up this time.
