When it comes to producing NFL talent, there's Florida, California and Texas, then everybody else.
Up-to-date roster information on
NFL.com reveals that those three states have 673 players on opening weekend rosters. Leading the way is Florida with 239, which is more than the bottom 24 states (listed below) combined.
It's not just quantity in the Sunshine State as nine 2015 All-Pros are back this season – Geno Atkins, Antonio Brown, Patrick DiMarco, Devonta Freeman, Kahlil Mack, Brandon Marshall, Reggie Nelson, Patrick Peterson and Josh Sitton – that played their high school ball in Florida.
California (220), Texas (214) and Georgia (119) were the only other states to place more than 100 players on opening weekend rosters.
