Baseball Recap: Eagle River Wins Going Away Against Palmer

Eagle River barely beat Palmer the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves put the hurt on the Moose with a sharp 12-2 victory on Wednesday. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Moose recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Inoa Wakinekona made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wakinekona was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Liam Lierman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jack Mullen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Eagle River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmer only posted an OBP of .200.

Eagle River's victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1. As for Palmer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coincidentally, Eagle River and Palmer will both be playing West Anchorage the next time they take the field. The Wolves will host the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Moose will head out to face them at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
