La Vega and the Hornets are an even 5-5 against one another  since December of 2017, but  not for long. The La Vega Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gatesville Hornets at 6:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. La Vega will be looking to keep their 16-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
 La Vega stacked  a  12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Connally on the road  to the tune of  63-35. With La Vega ahead  40-16 at the half, the  game was all but over already.
 La Vega's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Kiyleyah Parr, who  scored ten points along with seven  rebounds and six  assists. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mar?Cyah Willis, who  scored 18 points.
 Meanwhile, Gatesville came up short against the Cadets on Tuesday and fell  53-42. While losing is never fun, Gatesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings  (they are ranked 719th, while the Cadets are ranked 151st).
 La Vega has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 12 matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 27-8 record this season. As for Gatesville, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost six of their last seven matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record this season.
 Everything came up roses for La Vega against the Hornets when the teams last played  back in January as the  squad secured a  111-35 victory. Does  La Vega have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
