The Chicago Vocational Cavaliers will face off against the Simeon Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chicago Vocational's defense has only allowed 24.8 points per game this season, so Simeon's offense will have their work cut out for them.
After a 59-49 finish the last time they played, Chicago Vocational and Tilden decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Chicago Vocational came out on top in a nail-biter against Tilden on Thursday and snuck past 2-0. The win was just what Chicago Vocational needed coming off of a 56-25 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Simeon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 59-29 loss at the hands of Mother McAuley. While losing is never fun, Simeon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Mother McAuley is ranked 11th).
Despite the defeat, Simeon saw an underclassman step up: Mariyah Robinson scored 12 points.
Chicago Vocational's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Simeon, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-13.
Chicago Vocational took a serious blow against Simeon in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, falling 83-12. Thankfully for Chicago Vocational, Aneesah Morrow (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
