1A Conference 12 recap October 1, 2013
Rosewood was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in 1A Conference 12. Earlier in the week, the Eagles triumphed over Hobbton 27-8.
James Kenan extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Princeton, 35-22. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Michael Wooten threw for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 18-32 with 1 interception.
Jonathan West was a key player and the best on defense this week as James Kenan topped the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-0 junior racked up 2.0 sacks.
Emiliano Mora was the best running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 157 yards as North Duplin lost to Ken Avent, Jr.'s team. Teammate Daron Goodman added to the ground attack by rushing for 80 yards.
Princeton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wooten has thrown for 979 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Frasier has 19 catches for 403 yards.
An important game coming up in 1A Conference 12 this week will be when Rosewood takes on the Tigers. As it stands, Robert Britt's team is in third, while James Kenan is in first.
Spring Creek lost to Lakewood 54-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
